I got a phone call from Steve Williams on Friday, Dec. 20th to make sure I was around to get a photograph of his nephew's buck. Ryan Williams took this buck around 7:30 that morning in the Southern portion of Hinds county close to Utica. I think he was waiting for a buck bigger than the one his Uncle Steve had taken, and it looks like it was worth the wait. I'm sure he has let Steve know that this buck is much larger than the one that he took earlier in the season. Ryan has been hunting with his late grandfather's 30-30 for a chance at a deer. Looks like the old rifle still has a few good shots left in it. It only took one shot for Ryan to get his deer. This buck's estimated live weight is 210 lbs., and has a 19 1/2" inside spread.
