Allen Theriot from Lake Charles is shown here with his 7 point he took in Claiborne county. Here he only has the head which by my accounts looks to be a 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 year old deer. He claims that this buck weighed about 350 lbs., but you know how people from LA seem to stretch the truth.

Fellow Louisiana hunter Bray Sharp took offense to my joke about LA hunters with this email:

"I resent that remark on louisiana hunters. Louisiana hunters keep your (Miss.) economy running."

Allen Theriot knows this was a joke, and I hope he and his family got a good laugh about it. Apparently some LA hunters must have a bad attitude. This is the first LA hunter I have ever run across that had one though, and I have hunted with them all my life. I guess you just live & learn.


Here is another update. This is an email that I received from Allen today.

Dear George,

I don't know Mr. sharp but I wanted to let him know that you and I have joked around for years....and my family and friends did get a good kick out of what you wrote, but I told you 375lb not 350lb...have a blessed day...
